Congratulations to the Young Scientist Grant 2021!

The EURADOS Grant Selection Committee has proposed Iris Wölwitsch, Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS, Germany) as winner of the 2021 EURADOS Young Scientist Grant and the EURADOS Council has agreed to this proposal!

Iris applied for a 6 weeks research stay at Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT, Spain) to work on "Monte Carlo simulations of voxel phantoms in the field of radiation physics". The proposed work is part of her PhD work, well in line with EURADOS Strategic Research Agenda, Vision 4: Towards integrated personalised dosimetry in medical applications, Challenge 4.3: Establishment of reliable patient dosimetry in CT and interventional radiology examinations and fits within the scope of EURADOS WG12.

The amount allocated for the Young Scientist Grant is 4000 EUR, provided for reimbursement of the travel costs.

Iris will present her work to the EURADOS Voting Members at the General Assembly on 2nd February 2022 during the EURADOS Annual Meeting 2022 in Belgrade.
