EURAMET, the European Association of National Metrology Institutes, has unanimously approved the EMN for Radiation Protection in its General Assembly on 8 June 2021. This is a huge step for metrology in radiation protection.

The vision of EURAMET and its members is to ensure Europe has a world-leading metrology capability, based on high-quality scientific research and an effective and inclusive infrastructure, that meets the rapidly advancing needs of end users. EURAMET's European Metrology Networks (EMNs) help realising this aim.

In the moment 16 National Metrology Institutes and Designates Institutes joined forces with two radiation protection institutes (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz and Public Health England) and EURADOS e.V. to bring the EMN to operation. Big support was already granted by BIPM and IAEA to achieve this goal. Further collaboration is welcome, especially from all who those, who provide national or international metrological service in radiation protection.

Please contact the Acting Chair of the EMN for Radiation Protection Annette Röttger (annette [dot] roettger [at] ptb [dot] de (annette[dot]roettger[at]ptb[dot]de)) from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) for further information.
