Young Scientist Grant and Award Winners 2025
Congratulations!
It is our great pleasure to announce that the EURADOS Grant and Award Selection Committee and Council have selected Andreas Bückner (GSI, Germany) and Max Taylor (UKHSA, UK) as winners of the 2025 EURADOS Young Scientist Grant and Mads Lykke Jensen (PSI, Switzerland) and Martin Hjellström (University Gothenburg, Sweden) of the Award.
We invite both candidates to participate in the 2026 EURADOS Annual Meeting, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland from 16th to 19th of February 2026. They will present their excellent work in a 5 min talk during our General Assembly on 18th of February 2026.
Young Scientist Grant 2025
The objective of the EURADOS Young Scientist Grant is to support the exchange of young scientists between Voting Members. The research work carried out within EURADOS working groups is the frame of the Grant to be assigned every year. Priority is given to proposals directly linked with activities mentioned in the EURADOS Strategic Research Agenda (SRA). The EURADOS Grant consists of up to 4000 € for travel costs for the research stay and was awarded to
Andreas Bückner, GSI, Germany (WG9) for his work on “Experimental characterization and dosimetric evaluation of passive beam modifiers in a novel proton therapy mini beam application”.
The research stay at Danish Center for Particle Therapy (supervised by Niels Bassler) is planned for the second half of 2026.
A second Grant was awarded to
Max Taylor, UKHSA, United Kingdom (WG9) for his work on “A unified machine learning approach for track counting in CR-39 detectors”.
The research stays at PSI, Switzerland (supervised by Jeppe Brage Christensen) and at NPI, Czechia (supervised by Iva Ambrozova) are planned for March and June 2026.
Young Scientist Award 2025
The EURADOS Young Scientist Award will be given to proposals directly linked with activities mentioned in the EURADOS Strategic Research Agenda (SRA). The EURADOS Award consists of 500 € and was awarded to
Mads Lykke Jensen, Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland (WG9) for his work on “Detector system capable of simultaneously measuring dose and LET in 2D”.
and to
Martin Hjellström, University of Gothenburg, Sweden (WG7) for his work on “The use of medical gamma cameras for estimation of internal contamination of relevant radionuclides following radiological and nuclear events”.
